DEREK CHESLER, RA, NCARB
I’m a licensed architect with over a decade of experience designing custom homes, additions, and renovations. My approach combines thoughtful design with a practical understanding of construction. I enjoy understanding how people live and helping them see what’s possible in their homes.
My background spans residential design and project management on Long Island, adapting each project to its site and the needs of its owners. Working on homes along its shores gave me practical experience navigating the challenges of coastal construction and an appreciation for the relationship between a home and its surroundings.
In my own practice, I work directly with clients to understand their priorities, explore ideas, and guide decisions as the design develops. I believe the process should feel approachable, with clear communication and room to work through questions together. My goal is to create spaces that feel natural, comfortable, and personal, with careful attention to the details that carry a design into construction.
Outside of architecture, I spend much of my time hiking, mountain biking, and snowboarding. I am also an AASI certified snowboard instructor and instruct private lessons in Stowe, Vermont.
