Set directly along the Atlantic Ocean in Kismet, this beachfront residence embraces panoramic views within the environmentally sensitive Fire Island National Seashore. A distinctive saltbox roofline and wood siding draw on the character of the island’s coastal homes, while cantilevered decks extend living spaces toward the ocean.
Inside, a second-story flybridge crosses the double-height living space, creating the feeling of moving across a ship’s deck with the Atlantic stretching beyond. Expansive glazing frames 180-degree ocean views and brings daylight deep into the home, connecting both levels to the surrounding seascape.
Elevated above the dunes, the home offers different ways to experience its oceanfront setting—from the sheltered spaces alongside the house to the open decks overlooking the beach. The design centers on this relationship between shelter and exposure, pairing intimate living spaces with the scale of the open horizon.
